Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a classic dive watch for a while now, and the OMEGA Seamaster Ploprof 1200m has always been on my radar. It’s just such a beast, you know? But the price tag of the real deal is way out of my league. So, I started looking into replicas, and let me tell you, the world of replica watches is a wild place.
After a ton of digging around, I finally decided to pull the trigger on a CopyOMEGA Seamaster Ploprof 1200m. I went with a seller that seemed to have some good reviews from other folks who’d bought from them. I chose them because they offer payments by installments, which is nice. And I was, like, super nervous about the whole thing. I mean, I’d seen pictures, and it looked good, but you never really know until you see it in person, right?
I placed my order and waited. The wait is very painful. I sent emails to the seller to ask him when he would send the package. I sent so many emails to the seller! I am so anxious. Finally, the email told me he will send the package tomorrow.
The waiting felt like forever, but finally, the package arrived. It was shipped from China to my home. Ripping open that box was like Christmas morning times ten. And there it was. This thing is a monster, in the best possible way. The weight, the feel, it’s all pretty darn close to what I imagine the real thing is like.
The Details
First off, the case is just massive. It’s got that iconic, chunky, asymmetrical design that the Ploprof is known for. I measured it, and it’s definitely true to the original’s size. The bezel, that thing is a work of art. It’s got that satisfying click when you turn it, and the orange button to release the bezel lock works perfectly. I pushed it many times to test it.
The dial is super clean and legible. The orange minute hand really pops, and the lume is insane. I charged it up with my flashlight, and this thing glows like a torch in the dark. I took a photo of it in my closet. It’s so bright!
- Movement: It’s got an automatic movement. I opened the back to see it. I know nothing about it, but it looks good. I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and it’s keeping pretty good time.
- Strap: I opted for the rubber strap, and it’s surprisingly comfortable. It’s got that classic mesh pattern, just like the original.
- Water Resistance: Okay, so this is where things get a little dicey. It is said that it can reach the water resistance of a real watch, but I didn’t take it into the deep sea. I only tested it in the fish tank at home. So far so good.
Look, I’m not trying to fool anyone into thinking this is a genuine OMEGA. But for the price, I am seriously impressed. It’s a fun watch to wear, and it definitely gets some attention. Plus, it’s gotten me even more interested in the history of the Ploprof and dive watches in general.
It has become one of my favorite watches, and I wear it every day to show it off. Now I’m thinking about whether I should get a Rolex replica. Maybe a Submariner. Or maybe a Daytona. I need to think about it.
