Okay, so, I saw these Prada bags at the store, and my brain went, “I bet I can make that!” So I did, kinda. Here’s how it went down.

First, I checked out these bags in the shop. They had a ton! Big ones, small ones, all the colors. I picked out one that I liked, this big tote bag. They call it the “PRADA Re-Edition 2000” or something. They said it was 17.7 by 20 inches. I just roughly measured it with my hands.

Then, I went home and found some old black fabric. It wasn’t the same, but close enough, I thought. I cut it up, roughly the same size as the bag in the store, you know, eyeballing it. I am not a professional, just having fun.

Next, I needed that Prada logo. I didn’t have a fancy metal one like the real deal, so I got creative. I found a piece of white cloth and cut it into a triangle, like the logo. Then I just wrote “PRADA” on it with a black marker. Not perfect, but hey, it worked.

I sewed the whole thing together. It was a bit messy, some loose threads here and there, but it looked like a bag! Then I sewed my homemade logo onto the front. It was not centered at all! It was a bit crooked, but that’s okay.

Tried to make some handles. I just cut two long strips from the same black fabric and sewed them on. They were a bit wonky, not super strong, but they did the job. I can put some light stuff in it.

The Final Result

  • Looks like the real deal? Nope.
  • Did I have fun? Heck yeah!
  • Will I use it? Probably not, but it was a fun project to do on a lazy Sunday. I might put some groceries in it. Or maybe I will just put it in my closet. Who knows?

So, yeah, that’s my story of “remaking” a Prada bag. If you are looking for Prada bags, shoes, or clothes, you can find them in the shopping mall. Or you can make your own, like me! It’s a good time for sure. The official ones are pricey, though. I just don’t want to spend that much money on a bag.

In conclusion, this experience is so fun and I will keep trying to make other things. Maybe next time I will try making a pair of shoes, or even a car, why not? Anyway, let me know if you also made your own PRADA bags, and show me!
