Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the sapphire crystal, for a while now. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get it, and I gotta say, it was a bit of an adventure. I started by doing some digging online to see what this watch was all about.
I found out that this Speedmaster, also known as the “Moonwatch,” is a pretty big deal. It’s been around forever, and it’s got some serious history. Apparently, it was the first watch worn on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission. How cool is that? And it was part of NASA’s Gemini 4 mission too. The design is super classic, all manual winding and all that.
Now, I also learned that this watch isn’t exactly known for being super accurate. It’s not as precise as some other watches like the Rolex Daytona, for example, but it holds its own. But, I wanted a watch with a sapphire crystal, and most modern Speedmasters have an automatic movement, too. Anyway, the accuracy thing wasn’t a deal-breaker for me.
After I got all the basics down, I started hunting for the best place to buy it. I looked at a bunch of online stores, browsing through their collections, and it was kind of overwhelming. There are so many options out there! Some sites were offering these crazy discounts, like up to 60% off. Others were talking about warranties and financing and all that jazz. It was hard to know which one to trust.

There were others that offer free 1-5 year warranties on their watches, which was pretty cool. They had all the big brands, which was also tempting, but I was set on the Speedmaster.
My Purchase Decision
I saw another site that was going on about same-day shipping and a huge selection. They had a lot of visitors too, which made me think they were legit. I spent a lot of time comparing prices, reading reviews, and trying to figure out who was offering the best deal. Finally, I found a site that seemed reliable, had good reviews, and a decent price. They even offered financing, which was a nice bonus.
