Okay, guys, today I wanna talk about getting my hands on that Omega Speedmaster 310.92.44.50.01.001, also known as the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” – you know, the one with the rocket. It wasn’t easy, but here’s how it went down.
So, I’ve always been a huge fan of space stuff and watches. Naturally, when I first saw this Speedmaster, which is inspired by the Apollo 8 mission, I was blown away. I knew I had to have it. The all-black ceramic design, the 44.25mm size, it was just so cool. This wasn’t just a watch; it was a piece of history!
- First thing I did was start looking around online. I mean, who doesn’t these days? It was a good starting point, I guess.
- Then, I went to one store. I saw the price tag, and my jaw dropped. It was way more than I had expected. I asked the salesperson if they had any discounts or promotions going on. They didn’t, and I walked out feeling a bit bummed.
- I decided to check out a few more stores. I walked into maybe two or three. I started to feel like this was going to be harder than I thought.
Then I stumbled upon a forum, where some users are discussing about this model. They recommended me an online store. This is the first time I hear about this website, but the price is good.
- I did some research. I read some reviews about the online store, trying to make sure it was all legit.
- And… I finally pulled the trigger! Paid for it online, and I couldn’t sleep well at that night!
- I received an email saying my order was being processed. Waiting was the worst part. I kept checking the tracking info like a hawk.
After a few days, the package finally arrived. I ripped that box open like it was Christmas morning. And there it was, my new Omega Speedmaster, all shiny and perfect.
It was definitely worth the hassle. This watch is awesome. It’s got this cool blackened movement that’s supposed to celebrate the Apollo 8 mission, and the main plate and bridges have this moon-relief texture. Plus, it’s a Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, whatever that means. It’s supposed to be resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, which is pretty neat, I guess.
In short, getting this watch was a bit of an adventure, but I’m super happy with it. It’s a beautiful timepiece, and I’m proud to have it in my collection.
