This here story is about that Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. You know, that fancy watch them rich folks wear. I seen one in a picture once, looked real shiny. They say it’s the official flagship store, so it must be the real deal, not some cheap knock-off.

My grandson, he’s always on that internet thing, he showed me. Said these watches, they cost more than our whole house! Can you believe that? For a little thing you strap on your wrist! I heard some folks sell their old ones, maybe for less money. Used Jaeger-LeCoultre, it’s called.

  • Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande

I don’t know what’s so special about ’em. This JLC Master Ultra Thin, it’s got all them little numbers and dials. They say it tells the date, the month, even the year! Perpetual calendar, that’s what they call it. Imagine that! Mine just got the time, that’s all I need. Don’t have a need for another thing. This JLC watch sure is something. Perpetual calendar sounds fancy.

They say it runs on some fancy “calibre” thing. Jaeger-LeCoultre 868, I think he said. Sounds like a car engine to me. And it can go underwater! 50 meters, they say. That’s deeper than our well! I wouldn’t take my watch in the water, though. Might get all rusty. Even it’s an official Jaeger-LeCoultre. Official flagship store can’t be wrong.

This Master Ultra Thin Moon, it’s got a picture of the moon on it. Changes with the real moon, they say. My grandson, he said it’s real pretty. He wanted one, but I told him, “Boy, you need that like you need a hole in your head!” Maybe it is a good watch. But I think it’s too expensive.

This watch, it’s thin, they call it “Ultra Thin.” Must be real delicate. I’d probably break it first time I wore it, clumsy as I am. I seen them measure it, too. 39mm, 9.4mm, 45.7mm. What do all them numbers mean? Official information maybe, I don’t know. All those numbers, just to tell the time! And that calendar, it’s complicated. But that’s the Jaeger-LeCoultre. It’s complicated. They are all like this.

They say it’s a “dress watch.” For fancy occasions, I reckon. I don’t go to no fancy occasions. Just church on Sundays, and I don’t need a fancy watch for that. Just my old Timex, that’s good enough for me. I don’t think that Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar is for me. I can’t wear it to do my work. If it’s dirty, it’s broken.

Some folks, they collect these watches. Spend all their money on ’em. I guess if you got money to burn, why not? But me, I’d rather spend my money on something useful. Like a new cow, or maybe a tractor. Something that’ll actually do some good. But that’s just me. Everyone wants different things.

This here Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master, it’s a mystery to me. Why folks spend so much money on a watch. But I guess it’s their money, they can do what they want with it. If they want a Jaeger-LeCoultre, they buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre. If they want a Timex, they buy a Timex. It’s easy.

My grandson, he keeps talking about these watches. He wants to buy and sell them, make some money. I told him, “Be careful, son. There’s a lot of fakes out there.” You gotta know what you’re doing in this world, or you’ll get taken for a ride. Especially with these fancy watches. Jaeger-LeCoultre official flagship store is the best place to buy a watch, I think.

Well, that’s my two cents on that Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. It’s a fancy watch, for sure. But it ain’t for me. I’m happy with my old watch. It tells the time, and that’s all I need. I don’t need to know the moon phase or the year. I got a calendar on the wall for that. I know today is today. Tomorrow is tomorrow. That’s enough for me.

That JLC watch, though, it sure is something. All them little gears and things, working together. It’s like a little machine on your wrist. I guess that’s why it costs so much. A lot of work goes into making one of them things. But I still think it’s too expensive.

Maybe someday, my grandson will be rich and buy me one of them Jaeger-LeCoultre watches. He can get one from the official flagship store. Then I can wear it to church and show it off. But until then, I’ll stick with my old Timex. It’s been good to me, and I see no reason to change. The old watch is still good.
