Well, let’s talk about them Rolex Submariner watches, the ones they say are real fancy-like. I hear folks callin’ ’em “high imitation,” which I guess means they look just like the real McCoy but maybe ain’t. Don’t know much about that fancy stuff, but I can tell ya what I heard.
Now, some of these watches, they got numbers on ’em, like 5513 and 5517. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but them city folk, they say it makes a difference. They say the ones with both them numbers, they call ’em “double-reference” and them’s the ones everybody wants. Like tryin’ to find a hen’s tooth, I reckon. They’re rare, real rare, and that means they cost a pretty penny.
Talkin’ ’bout cost, these watches ain’t no chicken feed. Even the used ones, they call ’em “pre-owned” I think, they go for a whole lot of money. I heard tell they can cost anywhere from eight thousand dollars to forty-five thousand dollars! Can you imagine? That’s more than my old house is worth, I betcha. And that’s just for the plain metal ones, the ones they call “stainless steel”. If you want somethin’ shiny, somethin’ with gold or somethin’, well, you better be ready to shell out even more.
- Why so expensive? Well, they say it’s ’cause Rolex don’t make that many of ’em. And folks want ’em, so the price just goes up and up. Like them eggs when the hens ain’t layin’ so good.
- Where to find ’em? I ain’t got a clue. Probably in them big city stores or on that there internet thingy. But be careful, I heard there’s a lot of fakes out there. Folks tryin’ to trick ya into buyin’ somethin’ that ain’t worth a plugged nickel.
Now, I ain’t never seen one of these watches up close, but I heard they’re real nice. They got all sorts of little details, and they tick real smooth. And they last a long time too, or so they say. Like a good ol’ cast iron skillet, I guess. You can pass ’em down to your grandkids, and they’ll still be workin’ just fine.
I heard some folks sayin’ that buyin’ one of these watches is like buyin’ a house. Heck, maybe even more expensive than some houses I know. I saw this house for sale down the road, two stories, four bedrooms, real nice, but it ain’t even cost half as much as some of these watches! Course, that house is in Ellerbe, North Carolina, not exactly a big city, you know. Houses there go for around two hundred and twenty-five thousand, or sometimes even cheaper, like that one I saw for one hundred and fifteen thousand. Makes you think, don’t it? You could buy a whole house, or you could buy a little watch.
And speakin’ of Ellerbe, it ain’t a bad place. Got roads and businesses, just like anywhere else. You can even find directions and traffic info if you got one of them fancy phones. But I ain’t never seen nobody wearin’ no fancy Rolex watch around here. Most folks around here are more worried about fixin’ their trucks or gettin’ their crops in. Them “Launch 2-Post” car lifts, they’re more useful around here than a fancy watch, that’s for sure, especially if they can lift nine thousand pounds!
Now, some young folks, they work real hard in school, tryin’ to get the best grades they can. They call it “HDs,” I think. Sounds like a lot of trouble to me. I always figured hard work was for farmin’, not for sittin’ in a classroom. But I guess everyone’s different. And maybe some of them young folks, they’ll grow up and get one of them fancy watches. Maybe they’ll even learn how all them numbers and details work.
But me, I’m happy with my old Timex. It tells the time just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. And if it breaks, well, I can just get another one. No need to worry about “double-references” or “pre-owned” this or that. Just a good, plain watch, that’s all I need. And I sure don’t need no ads followin’ me around, them “trackers” they call ’em. Just let me be, that’s what I say. Life’s complicated enough as it is, without all that fancy stuff.
High imitation Rolex Submariner Quote, Rolex Submariner price, pre-owned Rolex, Ellerbe NC real estate, and car lifts are all important things to consider, I reckon, if you’re into that sort of thing. But for me, I’ll stick to what I know. And what I know is that a good day’s work and a warm meal are worth more than all the fancy watches in the world. But folks say them watches hold value, so if you got the money, I guess it ain’t a bad thing to have. Just make sure you know what you’re buyin’ and don’t get swindled.
So that’s about all I know about them fancy watches. Not much, I admit. But maybe it’s enough to give you an idea. Just remember, whether you’re buyin’ a watch or a house or a car lift, do your research, and don’t spend more than you can afford. That’s good advice, no matter who you are or where you come from.
