So, I got it into my head that I wanted to try and remake a Prada Symbole tote bag. I’ve seen these bags around, you know, the ones with that cool triangle pattern? They’re super stylish, and I thought, “Hey, I bet I could do something like that.”
First, I spent some time just looking at pictures of the bag online. I wanted to get a good feel for the shape, the size, and especially that jacquard fabric they use. It’s got this unique texture and look that really makes the bag stand out. I noticed that there are different sizes – large, medium, and small. And they’ve got these three compartments inside, which seems pretty handy. This tote bag was released in summer 2022. It looks very classic. I really love this bag.
Next, I started sketching out some ideas. I’m no professional designer, but I figured I could at least try to capture the basic idea of the bag. I played around with different shapes and sizes, trying to find something that felt right. And of course, I spent a lot of time thinking about that triangle pattern. I even tried drawing it out a few times to see if I could replicate it. It seemed very difficult to buy the original fabric.
Then came the fun part – picking out materials. I headed to my local fabric store and spent hours just browsing through different options. I was looking for something that felt sturdy and had a similar texture to the Prada fabric, but honestly, it was tough to find anything that matched exactly. So I bought some similar materials.
Once I had my materials, it was time to start sewing. Now, I’m not the best sewer in the world, but I know my way around a sewing machine. I carefully cut out the fabric according to my sketches and started piecing it together. It was slow going, and there were definitely a few times when I had to rip out seams and start over, but I was determined to make it work.
After many, many hours of work, I finally finished my homemade version of the Prada Symbole tote. And you know what? It didn’t turn out half bad! It’s definitely not a perfect replica, but it has that same general vibe, and I’m pretty proud of myself for actually managing to pull it off. I’m thinking about making some changes, but I’m not sure yet. But I really enjoy this interesting process.

The steps I did to remake the bag:
- Looked at lots of pictures.
- Drew some sketches.
- Bought fabric and other stuff.
- Cut and sewed everything.
- Finished the bag!
It was a fun project, and it taught me a lot about sewing and design. Maybe I’ll try making another one someday, but for now, I’m happy to just enjoy my new bag.
