Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary watch for a while now. It’s a pretty cool piece, and I finally managed to get one. Let me tell you, it was quite the journey.
First, I started by doing some research online about the watch. I found out that it’s a tribute to the Silver Snoopy Award that NASA gave OMEGA back in 1970. Apparently, Snoopy has been NASA’s safety watchdog since the ’60s. Who knew, right?
Then, I started looking for places where I could buy it. It is not a limited edition, so theoretically, I can get it from the AD directly. There are some online listings for around $18,250, but that’s way above the retail price. I mean, it’s a nice watch, but not “pay-a-huge-premium” nice, you know?
I visited a few local OMEGA boutiques to see if they had it in stock. One of them told me they could put me on a waiting list, but they couldn’t give me an estimate of when it might arrive. Another boutique said they could order it for me, but again, no promises on the delivery time. These are all expected, so I just left my contact information and waited.
After a few weeks, I got a call from one of the boutiques. They told me they had received a shipment and one of them was the Snoopy! I was so excited, I rushed over there right away. Then one fine day, I received a phone call from the dealer. Guess what? They got a piece in stock! I immediately rushed to the store and tried it on my wrist. Man, it looked good. I paid for it on the spot, and they gave me this special presentation box for it too.
When I got home, I took a closer look at the watch. It’s got this white dial with blue accents, and a 42mm stainless steel case. It’s powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, which is supposed to be super precise and resistant to magnetic fields. I opened the back and found the lovely Snoopy in his Command and Service Module!
Wearing it around, I’ve gotten a lot of compliments. It’s definitely a conversation starter. I just really like it, to be honest, it is just so unique and classic.

All in all, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s a beautiful watch with a cool story behind it, and it is not as hard to get as those limited editions. If you’re a fan of OMEGA or Snoopy, or just like unique watches, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
