Hey there, you! You wanna know about that fancy watch, the Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar? Well, I gotta tell you, it’s somethin’ else. And that price, that quote? You won’t believe it!
This watch, it ain’t just tellin’ time. No sir! It does all sorts of things. They say it got hours, minutes, seconds. Like any old watch, right? But then it goes crazy! It tells you the day, the date, the month… even the year! Can you believe that? And a perpetual calendar, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, though. Oh, and a moon thing. It shows you the moon! My old man used to just look up at the sky, but I guess this is easier. These young folks and their gadgets!
Now, this Jaeger-LeCoultre thing, they say it’s Swiss. That’s way over in Europe, I reckon. Fancy place, probably. They been makin’ these things since, uh, 1833! That’s a long time. Longer than I been around, that’s for sure. Some fella named Antoine LeCoultre, he started it all. They’re based in a place called Le Sentier. Sounds like “Le Sent-yay” to me, but I don’t speak that fancy talk. Anyway, they must know what they’re doin’, been around that long.
- Hours
- Minutes
- Seconds

- Date
- Month
- Year
- Perpetual calendar
- Moon phase
They say this watch is thin, too. Real thin. “Ultra thin,” they call it. They put a number on it, 9.3mm. Don’t know what that means exactly, but I guess it’s small. My old pie crusts are thicker than that, that’s for sure! And it’s got a bezel, a thin one. They say it makes the case compact. I just know it looks pretty, all shiny and such. That bezel is like the frame on my old picture of my grandson, Jimmy. Keeps everything nice and neat.
And listen to this, this watch is automatic. That means it winds itself! You just wear it, and it goes. Back in my day, we had to wind our watches every day. Like feedin’ the chickens, it was just somethin’ you did. They say this automatic thing, the first one, was from 1946. That’s before I met my Earl, even. They call it the 476, or the 12A. Numbers again. I tell ya, these folks love their numbers.
I hear people talkin’ about other Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, too. This Reverso thing, and a Moonphase, and a Polaris Chronograph. Sounds like a bunch of hocus pocus to me. And they want to know if these imitations, these copies, are any good. Well, I don’t know about all that. I just know this Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, it’s a real looker. But that price! That’s what gets ya. It’s a lot of money for a watch, even if it does tell you the moon.
Now they have this other one, the Master Ultra Thin Date. They say it’s a classic. Like my old apple pie recipe, I suppose. Been around forever, everybody loves it. They even made a new one with a different color face. Like puttin’ a new ribbon on an old hat, I guess. They say it takes courage to change somethin’ that’s already so good. I say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! But what do I know? I’m just a simple woman who likes simple things. But this watch is simple too, I guess. Just tells you the date.
I seen folks lookin’ for these imitation watches. They ask where to get ’em, if they’re any good. They say “NWBIG” for the Master Ultra Thin Date. I don’t know what that means, probably some secret code these young folks use. This imitation stuff, it’s like buyin’ those fake pearls. They look alright, but they ain’t the real thing. But sometimes, the real thing is just too much money. Like this Jaeger-LeCoultre. Pretty, but pricey.
You know, my Earl, he had a pocket watch. A simple thing, it was. Told the time, that’s all. He didn’t need no moon phase or perpetual calendar. He just needed to know when to come in for supper. And that watch, it was special to him. He got it from his daddy, who got it from his daddy before him. It was more than just a watch, it was a piece of our family. And to me, that imitation JLC watch is too much expensive for people. A real watch is too good for most people.
This Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, it’s a nice watch, I guess. For someone who’s got more money than sense. Me? I’ll stick with my Earl’s old pocket watch. It may not tell me the moon, but it tells me somethin’ more important. It tells me about love, and family, and a time when things were simpler. And that’s worth more than any fancy watch, any day.
This JLC Master Ultra Thin is good for rich people. And that quote, that price is very high. Too high for me.
