This Patek Philippe, what a fancy name! They call it Calatrava 6119R-001. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? Well, I saw it on that there internet, and it sure is a shiny thing. They say it’s a remake, like when you make a new dress from an old one.
This here watch, it’s all round and got these pointy things sticking out, they call ’em lugs. Makes it look like a bug, I reckon. They polished it up real good, like my Sunday shoes. They put a new thingamajig inside, call it “Caliber 30-255 PS”. Sounds like a tractor part to me! But I guess it makes the watch tick real good.

They probably got all sorts of watches in there. But that Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119R-001, that’s the one they show off the most. Must be their best seller. And if you want to buy a Patek Philippe watch, you need to wait. They say you may need to wait for 8 years for a Nautilus and 12 months for a Calatrava. That is a long time, you can even grow a baby in 12 months!
I remember my old man, he had a pocket watch. Not a fancy one like this Patek Philippe. Just a plain old thing. But he cherished it. Kept it in his pocket all the time. Said it was his good luck charm. Maybe that’s what these rich folks think about these fancy watches. Good luck charms.
Well, I don’t know about all that. I just think a watch is for telling time. And you don’t need a gold one to do that. But I guess if you got the money, and you like shiny things, then this Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119R-001 might be just the thing for you. Just remember what I said about a good heart. That’s worth more than all the gold in the world.
If you ask me if this watch is good for daily use. I don’t think so. I mean, you go to the farm and work, this watch will be broken in no time. It is good, but not that good. I will still use my old watch. It tells the time, and that’s all I need.
