This Patek Philippe, oh my, they call it Calatrava 5088/100P-001. Big name for a watch, I tell ya. Patek Philippe Calatrava, sounds fancy, right? This is the real deal, the official one, not some knock-off you get down at the market. They say it’s from the official store, so it’s gotta be good.
I saw some folks talking ’bout buying it on some fancy site, Chrono-something. They say you can get it for cheap there. And somethin’ about protectin’ the buyer. That’s good, I guess. Don’t want nobody gettin’ ripped off, you know?
Now, this other place, somethin’ called “Ginza Nisshin-do.” Sounds like a place for rich folks, they say it’s been around since, what was it… 1892? Lord, that’s older than dirt! They sell all kinds of fancy watches there. Rolex and this Patek Philippe. Must be good stuff if they been in business that long.
This watch, it’s all shiny and made of platinum. That’s that fancy metal, ain’t it? And it’s small, they say 38 mm. Not too big, not too small. And it’s thin, like a pancake, only 8.3 mm. They put somethin’ called a sapphire-crystal on the back. I reckon that’s what makes it so shiny.

They did all this fancy carvin’ on it, by hand! And the dial, that’s the face of the watch, it’s black enamel. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds fancy. Must take a long time to do all that carvin’. And inside, they got this thing called a “caliber 240.” Sounds like somethin’ out of a car. They say it’s “ultra-thin” and “self-winding.” I guess that means you don’t gotta wind it up yourself. And it runs for 48 hours, that’s two whole days, without stoppin’. That’s pretty good, I reckon.
This watch ain’t cheap, that’s for sure. Costs more than my whole house, I bet. They say it’s $105,820! Can you believe that? For a watch! But I guess some folks like to spend their money on things like that. They say it’s a good investment. Like buyin’ land, but smaller and shinier. This Patek Philippe Complications, that’s what they call it. It’s supposed to be a good investment.
They got it used, too, if you don’t want to spend that much. I saw one for $85,044. Still a lot of money, but a little less than new. But you gotta watch out, they say you might have to pay more if you buy it from some other place, not the official one. Like 6% more. That’s a lot of money just for buyin’ it from the wrong place. Better stick to the official store, I reckon.

They say this watch is still bein’ made, right now, in 2024. So it ain’t some old thing they dug up outta the ground. It’s brand spankin’ new. They say this Patek Philippe 5088/100P-001 is a good one. If you got the money, that is. Me, I’ll stick to my old watch. It might not be fancy, but it tells the time just fine.
This here watch, it’s got some gold on it, too. 18 gold somethin’s. Must be why it’s so expensive. And they engrave it by hand, like I said before. Takes a lot of work, I reckon. Makes it look real pretty, though. But I don’t know, seems like a lot of fuss for a watch. Just somethin’ to tell the time, ain’t it?
Now, they say on these websites that some of these watches might not be available. They say they might be “sold out” or “discontinued.” That means you can’t buy ’em no more. So if you really want one of these Patek Philippe watches, you better get it while you can. ‘Cause once they’re gone, they’re gone.
If I was gonna spend all that money on a watch, I’d want to make sure it was the real deal. This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5088/100P-001, it sure is pretty. But I wouldn’t buy it off of the internet. There are too many crooks out there. I would want to go to the official flagship store. That’s the only place I’d trust to get something that expensive.
